Shepherds pie is one of those classic British recipes that's satisfying, comforting, and most, of all, delicious! Chef Jason Hill shows you how to make a Shepherds pie recipe that's inspired by a well known Irish restaurant. This easy shepherds pie gets its rich flavor from tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and chopped fresh rosemary. And what makes it fun is that we're cooking it in four individual ramekins. A traditional recipe for shepherds pie calls for ground lamb, but we are going to use ground turkey for a healthier turkey shepherds pie. If you like lamb, feel free to use it. For a chicken shepherds pie, use ground chicken, and for a shepherd's pie beef version, use ground beef. Before beginning this recipe, prepare one batch of Hill's garlic mashed potatoes and keep on hand. You'll need this for topping the pie. Here's what you'll need to prepare this delicious Irish Shepherds Pie. 2 tablespoons butter 1 onion, diced 2 celery stalks, diced 2 carrots, diced 2 cloves minced garlic 1 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary (plus a few sprigs for garnish) 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey 1 tablespoon tomato paste 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup beef stock or broth 2 cups green peas 1 prepared batch of Hill's garlic mashed potatoes (see his video recipe) 4 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese Melt butter in a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
